 The Eleventh Hour Church Hymns

Hymns ordered by alphabet

We have ordered the hymns by the alphabet. This also includes both the title of the hymn and in some rare cases the first sentence in situations where the first sentence is not the same as the title. Thus two links may point to one hymn.

Music a Power for Good

ELLEN G. WHITE - MESSAGES TO YOUNG PEOPLE p. 296

Music can be made a great power for good; yet we do not make the most of this branch of worship. The singing is generally done from impulse or to meet special cases, and at other times those who sing are left to blunder along, and the music loses its proper effect upon the minds of those present. Music should have beauty, pathos, and power. Let the voices be lifted in songs of praise and devotion. Call to your aid, if practicable, instrumental music, and let the glorious harmony ascend to God, an acceptable offering.–“Testimonies for the Church,” Vol. 4, p. 71. {MYP 296.1}

However small your talent, God has a place for it. That one talent, wisely used, will accomplish its appointed work. By faithfulness in little duties, we are to work on the plan of addition, and God will work for us on the plan of multiplication. These littles will become the most precious influences in His work.–“Christ’s Object Lessons,” p. 360. {MYP 298.1}
