POEM 1: Do Good or do Right; Choose you now
By: Bro. Emmanuel Imbali (Kenya Division)

Many Christians are men pleasers,
Many Christians have wandered away from the way of the Kingdom seekers,
They behave as if they are still in diapers,
As days go by they move from bad to worse;
Imitating what the Temper does.
Doing good would never mean that we are doing right,
And many a times this brings up a fight,
Sacred principles are sacrificed and serious matters taken light,
Divine precepts are neglected and light taken as dark night,
As a result sin ceases to appear sinful and righteousness undesirable in our sight.
Many who do good seek to be loved by men,
These are people who have forgotten their way back to Eden,
They have forgotten what is required of them by heaven,
Their agendas are kept hidden;
And doing what is right to them seems a burden.
There are those men who are true to duty as the needle is to the pole,
These are men who stand for what is right regardless of whether heavens fall,
They can never be bought at all,
True and honest indeed. Very zealous in playing their role,
Just like Daniel; they dare heed the heaven’s call.
Men who do right don’t do to be seen;
For they know very well that it is sin,
In whatever they they are very keen,
On Christ’s side they lean;
Knowing that it is the only way to win.
Christ our perfect example is no respector of person,
He expects us as Christians this virtue to others we should pass on,
Doing right should be regardless of season,
But it is unfortunate that a right deed, to many, is treated as treason,
And one is condemned with no valid reason.
Many cover evil in the name of friendship,
Do they really even know who is the captain of their ship?
Would I be mistaken to say they as wolves in the skins of sheep?
It is from the cup of transgressions that such foolish virgins sip;
And thus they continue to their destruction where they’ll bitterly weep.
Everything we do has its own consequences,
We live in the reformation time just like the waldenses,
So it’s high time we stopped singing to the tune the devil dances,
I dare you risk taking chances;
And ignore the offenses.
Christ came and did what was right,
Despite His character being blackened His reputation remained snow white,
And if we copy His example we’ll climb the spiritual’s lofty height,
My plea us brethren is that let’s hold tight;
For we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. That is, we have the might.
