POEM No. 14: Struggle for Fame

By: Sis. Edna Twara (Kenya Division)
★★★★★★★★★★
Everyone wants to be recognized,
Everyone wants to be called something,
Everyone wants something attached to his name,
I call it fame,
We’re all in a mission to get recognition,
This has led us to strive in strife,
Very often this insinuates itself in the preaching of the Gospel,
Christendom is now full of variances,
Numberless sects; each trying to prove the rest wrong; and upholding its own doctrines,
Many people are left in the valley of decisions,
Satan points at us with a scorn,
We have defied Christ’s name,
Ministers have turned the Gospel into a dry-spell,
Rather than gathering with Christ they have ended up scattering with the devil,
In preaching Christ was itinerant,
Today preachers are arrogant and ignorant,
They end up preaching self instead of Christ; just as Satan would have it,
The general opinion is that the churches are flourishing, and that peace and spiritual prosperity are in all her borders,
They deceive to receive,
No relief in Christian belief;
For Christianity is full of believes, one diverse from the other,
Churches are now turned into commercial centres,
Pride is left to reign supreme,
Greed and selfishness has made the world run short of tittles,
When will be the end of all this madness?
Such people Christ will deny them saying, ‘I know you not’,
They shall be visited upon in judgement everyone to render his own account,
Brethren, cease ye from men whose breathe is in the nostrils,
Get your belief from ” Thus saith the Lord,”
This is the only firm foundation while the rest is sinking sand.
