Hymn No. 80

Salvation

Origin: DSDA Uganda Division

Rod Quotation: 1SC3: 4.7

Tune: New

♦-1-♦
His gifts are greater than my dreams,
The Rod especially,
They’re countless as the sunset golden beams.
As boundless as the sea,
The Extra Oil we gain,
I thank my savior for this latter rain.

♦-Refrain-♦
Salvation is only through Christ,
Who gave His life to save His people, their souls to heal,
This Truth that He gave to us, is so highly priced,
It enables us receive the seal.

♦-2-♦
Within my heart He has a place,
To rule and reign supreme.
My voice will ever praise Him for the grace.
His promise I esteem:
My stony heart He’ll take,
A heart of fresh He’ll give me for His sake.

♦-3-♦
How blest are they who always keep,
The pure and perfect way.
The Lamb they follow while with joy they leap.
With the truth of today,
They earnestly comply,
With fervent humble zeal they sigh and cry.

1SC3: 4.7; Series page: SCS 15:
When God reveals something to a man which he for himself cannot find, the Bible term for such revelation is, Inspiration. Hence, Jesus pronounced that Peter was inspired, and the subject of Peter’s revelation was the central theme of man’s salvation — Jesus. The essential truth that had to be proclaimed in Peter’s time was that Jesus Christ was the Son of God. Consequently, Peter had a message directly from the Father of which he was a debtor to every living soul under heaven, and by which every man was to be judged either for salvation or condemnation.
